Nicole “Nic” Simpson

Nicole is from the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad. (Trinidad and Tobago) She is the author of “From No Salt to the Corner Office – My Journey from Poverty to the Peak of Advertising.”

She resides in Los Angeles, California. Shortly after her arrival in New York City from Trinidad, Nicole saw Johnny Carson’s iconic monologues. She was fascinated and inspired and promised to perform stand-up comedy in the future.

Nicole is an author, actor, comedian, and host. Her career also spanned many years in management in the corporate world of advertising and she has been an entrepreneur. She is focused on living her passions.

She loves traveling, dancing, yoga, Pilates, movies and anything on or near the ocean. Nicole is an avid Los Angeles Lakers basketball fan and loves sports in general.

I can identify with many of the experiences therein since Nicole and I became friends in our youth and our now mature friendship has blossomed over the years.

Gripping, authentic, absorbing and fascinating is my honest reflection of FROM NO SALT TO THE CORNER OFFICE. It is hooked with suspense, victories and heartbreak. Nicole has bared her soul in this book. She has been sincere and honest in presenting her struggles from a young woman, right through her distinguished career and her travels around the world, her opportunities to meet with celebrated folks, grave injustices and the nightmarish deceptiveness of the desire to trust and be trusted. I became nervous as to how she would reveal some of the dastardly truths. She skilfully handled them all successfully.

What a novel! It had me reading non-stop as I anticipated some new detail which I might miss if I put it aside for too long. Having seen in writing many of the issues which I had merely heard of and shared only briefly after she had migrated to America, I feel a greater sense of appreciation for my friend. This extremely powerful story is a must-read for avid readers, Nicole’s friends, and for all the many lives she has touched in her colourful journey of life thus far.
